Karen
Care CoordinatorI joined Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin in July 2021.
I was new to care, having spent the previous 20 years in buying and merchandising. The reason I decided to start a career in care was going through the Covid lockdown and seeing how much it affected my nan, with her being on her own and how isolated she felt: I realised there must be so many more people out there that need some help and support.
I was made a Senior CareGiver in 2023. Alongside my role, I am studying towards a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. This is helping me develop my knowledge as a care professional.
I'm not very good with change, but changing my career path was easily one of the best decisions I have made. I absolutely love my job and making a difference to our amazing clients and their families' lives. I find this job so rewarding and couldn't imagine doing anything else.
In 2024 I became the Care Coordinator at Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin.
